The Sustainable Land Use Initiative (said Slew-ee (or SLUI) for short), is a regional-scale initiative aimed at reducing the risk that future climate variability and extreme weather events pose to our region and its land resource.
Horizons’ vision of a prosperous region with green hills, safe communities and clean streams needs landowner help to become a reality. Keep an eye out for the SLUI 2 U team coming to you via the Green RIG at field days, community gatherings and monitor farm days.
The main tool to achieve greater sustainable landuse in our region is the Whole Farm Plan –a practical business and environmental management plan tailored to each farm environment.
Keen to be more ‘eco-nomical’ in your use of the land? Sign up for a farm plan today!
